Grand County is a winter wonderland all winter, but during the holidays, its pure magic. Dog sledding, skiing, tubing and ice skating are joined by fireworks, parades, and visits from the jolly old elf himself. It’s the perfect place to escape the city and make memories with family and friends. Here’s a sampling of holiday happenings this season!

Christmas Carolers and Santa – Winter Park Resort Village
12/24/18 – 1:00 – 5:00 pm
Put in last minute requests and get a picture with the man in red in the Gazebo while a wandering chorus of Christmas carolers adds the perfect atmosphere to the afternoon. Celebrity figure skater Maddison Bullock will perform at 2 and 3pm on the Village Lake, and there will be a screening of Ice – the Movie immediately following.

Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade – Winter Park Resort
12/24/18 – 5:30PM
The Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade is one of the most beloved Winter Park traditions. Enjoy refreshments and carols around the bonfire at the base area while a procession of torch-bearing skiers and riders escort Santa and his helpers down the slope/ A fireworks display and lighted snowcat procession top off the evening in a spectacular way.

Festival of Lights – Grand Lake
Every evening through January 1st 5 – 9 pm (10 pm on Friday/Saturday)
Check out an amazing 45-minute light and sound show without leaving the warmth of your car! The show starts every hour on the hour and is sure to become a family tradition.

10th Annual Moffat Road Railroad Museum Christmas Display – Granby
Through January 1
Marvel at a 1100 sq. ft. model railroad village with five trains running concurrently, mountains, tunnels, 120+ houses, even working ski lifts! Open daily, check website for hours.

New Year’s Eve at Granby Ranch
The party begins when the outdoor bar opens and 3pm and keeps going all night. Start the celebrating by watching the Kids’ Glowstick Parade and fireworks at 6 pm then choose either a family friendly dinner buffet and DJ Dance Party from 5 to 9, or choose a more grown up prix fixe dinner and adults only affair from 5pm to 1am, complete with champagne toast. Reservations/tickets required for most events, half price tickets available for designated drivers.

Deno’s NYE Dinner and DJ Dance Party – Winter Park
12/31/18 5pm – 1:30 am
Ring in the New Year with a special menu, then countdown to midnight on the dance floor. Reservations strongly recommended.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks – Grand Lake
Bundle up and watch the high-altitude display from the beach!
