Boats and More
If you’re feeling a bit landlocked, head to Lake Estes and take in the majestic view of the northern Colorado Rockies from a kayak or a ten-person pontoon boat. If your boat followed behind you on your journey, a boat-launching area is available. There is a small beach with a picnic area and a space for horseshoes and volleyball. The marina store sells fishing supplies, licenses and goodies to ensure your time on the water is safe and fun. The marina is generally open May-October, weather dependent. 970-586-2011, www.evrpd.com/marina/marina-info.
Estes Park Marina rents single-geared bikes and a surrey-type pedal cart. Child carriers are available.
Skate Park The Youth Center houses Lawson Skate Park, a 6,000-square-foot skateboard/BMX/inline skate park with 13 ramps and rails and a regulation-size, inline hockey rink. It is open every day of the year during daylight hours. The skate park is not supervised. Skaters are encouraged to wear safety equipment. www.estesvalleyrecreation.com.
