About Us

Who We Are

We Are Adventurers

Having fun is part of our job. We hike, bike, paddle, ski, camp, golf, hammock, play and live at high altitude. But while we are a fun-loving team of adventurers, outdoor enthusiasts and lovers of nature, we know that publishing guidebooks also requires us to be professionals sometimes so that we can put our love for what we do into a format that others can follow.

We Are Experts

It takes a village, and at GuestGuide Publications we have just that. We are a dynamic team of spreadsheet queens, barrel-racing rodeo girls and former Sweethearts. We have hyphen police, apostrophe perfectionists and expert journalists with various English and grammar degrees. We have hip bloggers and talented, creative graphic designers. We have an SEO person who makes all our heads spin. Everyone has so many different talents they bring to GuestGuide. But the main driving force of our team is that we all love what we do and we want others to enjoy their adventures as well.

We Are Locals

We live where you vacation, so we have the distinct advantage of understanding tourist destinations. We use, and are very thankful for, the help of local experts and volunteers who are eager to give us much needed advice, opinions and time. If you want the most relevant tips, tricks & trail advice you can find, our GuestGuide experts can help you find it!

We Are GuestGuide Publications

GuestGuide Publications was started in 1995 by Susie and Helen Masterson. It began with a chance meeting in a bar and a discussion between two ski instructors (one now the publisher) about guidebooks and photography. Helen (aka Mom and the Editor-in-Chief) worked as a writer and public relations specialist for years writing about tourism. It seemed like a good fit. Now, 20 years later, we have published just over 143 guidebooks! Our publications are designed to reach a variety of audiences, from the young to the young at heart.

We Are Your Source for FUN

Whether you read the tips on our website or pick up one of our guidebooks while visiting one of the amazing towns we publish guidebooks for, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do putting it together.

Have some feedback? We would love to hear it! Our books have grown and improved because of our readers, so please, share your GuestGuide ideas and experiences with us!

See It and Believe It

At GuestGuide Publications, we like to see (and be!) real people having real fun, which is why all of our images are moments captured, never staged. We like to be in the right place at the right time, not on schedule. If you see it here, you can do it there!
